25 guests' feedbackA family of 7 with a little pug enjoyed the mountain views and out of this world scenery. We sat for hours on the patio just taking it all in. The lodge is safe enough for the kids to walk about. We did have a troop of baboons watching us; however, one call to the owners and they quickly came to check on us. We are after all in their environment. The road leading to the lodge does require a high-rise vehicle; smaller vehicles will have a problem. The units are spacious enough for all of us, but they do need a bit of cleaning. If you do visit with kids, remember you are in the mountains. Take it all in; there is no WiFi and no TV. Perfect place to reconnect. I would suggest bringing along some board games and outdoor activities. The kids absolutely loved watching the geckos. They have also named them Ari and Dave, LOL. Thys and his family are super accommodating and friendly. This is a family-run establishment, and it shows. We really enjoyed our 2-night stay and will try to visit again. Thank you.

The unit needs a lot of attention. This is a self-catering unit with no dishwashing facilities You have to wash some of the things in the sink. The place inside is falling apart. Was very, very disappointed. We expected only the best from the website and therefore did the booking through you. Sorry, probably not what you wanted to hear. I can also forward photos if you want to see them! Disappointed guest.

Very well located in the mountains, peaceful surroundings, beautiful view over all the mountains, it was wonderful to be able to just relax, will go there again.
It's a great place if you just want to get away from the city and have a good rest. We enjoyed it very much. Every morning go for a walk and barbecue. The accommodation was also nice, neat and clean.
The dirt road is not suitable for sedan vehicles.
I was looking for a quiet weekend break in the lowlands and surrounding area. 2020 wasn't easy for anyone, and it was high time to just break away from the daily rush of city life. What a great surprise awaited to see the view, and to be able to walk barefoot on the lovely grass. It was mostly cloudy, which simply made the weekend that much better, vivid views that one gets not only of the golf course, but also of the mountains in the area. Feel free to visit if you want to get away and experience silence again.
We had a bad experience here. Accommodation and area is beautiful The owners don't take control of the situation when other guests make a noise though. This meant that a necessary rest for my wife and I was spoiled. Music, shouting until late at night. We were very disappointed.
We had a lovely long weekend, our apartment and the whole lodge were neat and clean. Marcel, Thys and Leah made us feel so at home. Would definitely recommend golfers to visit there.
The maintenance of the resort is poor. eg the swimming pool was dirty and half full. Not at all as beautiful as in the photos. We stayed in the Escarpment Family Chalet. The thatched roof was destroyed, full of holes and the grass lay all over the side of the house. (luckily it didn't rain while we were there). The kitchen is very small and sparsely equipped for a house that can accommodate 7 people. The house is not well equipped at all for the price we paid for the accommodation, for the same money (and even less) we can stay much more luxurious elsewhere. The road to the resort is also very poor, you will not be able to get there easily with a normal vehicle as they indicate. There was a wildfire nearby and the host made no effort to reassure us of their protocol should it get too close, on the contrary, he asked us to let him know if there was trouble. Not worth the money at all.
We spent a lovely weekend in the mountains. Hubby playing golf and kids enjoying the freedom of just being able to run around and play. Great way to recharge the batteries.
This environment is beautiful, the gardens and places outside look very good. Inside the units there are quite a few things that need fixing. In the clubhouse are broken tiles that cost us 4 hours in a hospital when our 9 year old had to get 7 stitches.
One was warned about 9 km of dirt road but travellers must take note of this. As warned arrive in day light and if using a sedan drive very slowly.

The advertisement is misleading regarding the 7 km dirt road that runs along the R539 and does not go into the mountain. The traffic on the road bothers you when you sit on the porch and visit. Further in the grounds it is peaceful and quiet and we were able to enjoy it. We would not recommend the food at the restaurant - not bad, but sub-standard. The people were very helpful and friendly. The few people who are there make sure that there is a peaceful atmosphere all the time. So the big factor why we won't go back is the location.
We made a late decision to spend the night in the Nelspruit area. I was very relieved about LekkeSlaap's instant booking option. We had a little trouble finding the entrance (roadworks and the dark), but once we got there, we were warmly welcomed and made to feel at home. We slept great and left the next morning to the best French toast breakfast I've ever had. We don't play golf ourselves, but for someone who does, Drakenzicht would be a very good option.
Stunning nature, comfortable accommodation and breakfast was delicious. Getting there after dark is a bit of an issue - access road is quite long (they warned us to drive slowly in the dark). Drakenzicht is perfect for golfers. We were 7 adults who booked on short notice. Perfect accommodation and affordable. Lovely host!

Lovely and quiet resort with beautiful surroundings. They should perhaps look at the access road between the first and second access gate. Perhaps they should get a basin for washing dishes for the chalets for 2 people.
We had a good rest, the golf course is exceptional, my husband enjoyed playing golf a lot.
Marcelle and Thys really care about their guests. We felt welcome from the minute we arrived until we left. Thank you very much!
There isn't a roof when it rains so you can barbecue, nor is there dinner you can eat when it rains. We had to make a fire 3 times because the ventilation is not right.
It was perfect for a nice weekend getaway.
